Detoxification

Clients who require detoxification services will meet with an addiction medicine psychiatrist upon admission. The Medical Director will provide a comprehensive evaluation to determine the appropriate level of care. The physician will do a medication assessment and will collaborate with the patient to ensure that the detoxification process is both smooth and comfortable:

I am what they call a “rehab hopper” and I’ve gone to 12 programs. I would do so well at an inpatient rehab but as soon as I got out, I couldn’t handle real life. I finally decided to try something different and did Control Center’s intensive outpatient program. It gave me highly structured treatment but it was combined with me staying at home, holding down my job and testing out all the new skills I was learning. I was finally leading a normal life instead of being confined at a rehab. You don’t need to be isolated to get better! Being at The Control Center taught me that if you create an artificial place to recover, it prevents you from having exposure to reality and working through real stressors.
